Jeff Pappas holds degrees from Brigham Young University, Baylor University, and a Ph.D. from Arizona State University, where he studied American Indian, Environmental, and Public History. Between 1992 and 2012, Pappas worked for the National Park Service and taught in the graduate program in public history at Colorado State University. In 2012, he was appointed State Historic Preservation Officer by Governor Susana Martinez. He also teaches in the School of Architecture and Planning at the University of New Mexico.
