Hello! I’m Angela Pacheco, and I’m the Supervisor of Advising here at the UNM School of Architecture & Planning. I’ve been a part of advisement at SA+P for over a decade and have had the pleasure of working with so many talented and amazing students over the years. I was an Architecture major during my undergraduate degree, so I understand the rigors of the programs in our School.

I, along with our outstanding advisement team, are dedicated to your success and are here not only to help you succeed, but thrive.

YOU ARE WELCOME HERE! Talent comes in all packages, and we encourage all our students to explore and learn, both personally and professionally. We support you.

Registration Holds

Holds placed on your account can affect your registration, so it is important that you check for holds prior to registration and resolve them in a timely manner.

  • Check for holds
  • Advisement Holds: these are holds placed on your account by your Academic Advisor. You have to complete a step in order for this hold to be removed.
    • New to A&P Advisement: all newly admitted (or readmitted) undergraduate students will receive this hold. Freshmen: the hold is resolved by completing New Student Orientation. Transfer/Readmitted students: the hold is resolved by having a one-on-one meeting with your advisor and completing New Student Orientation. Advising during Orientation is automatic (built-into the program). Appointments are scheduled in Student Hub.
    • New Student Workshop: all undergraduate students in their first semester at UNM will receive this hold. Freshmen: the hold is resolved by attending a New Student Workshop with your advisor. Transfer students: the hold is resolved by having a one-on-one meeting with your advisor. Both workshops and appointments are scheduled in Student Hub.
    • Graduation Planning: all undergraduate students that are within one year of graduating will receive this hold.
    • Probation: all students placed on Academic Probation. At UNM, a 2.0 cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) is required to maintain good academic standing. If your GPA falls below 2.0, you will be placed on academic probation. After two consecutive semesters with a cumulative GPA below 2.0, academic suspension can occur. Academic probation allows you to work with a support system to prevent academic suspension in the future. In order to avoid suspension a 2.0 cumulative GPA is required to be removed from probation status or a 2.5 semester GPA to continue on probation for another semester.
      • Removal: email Angela Pacheco at delong@unm.edu to schedule a one-on-one advisement appointment to review academic progress and develop a success plan for the next semester.
    • Non-Advisement holds: Advisors do not have control over the following holds, so please contact these departments directly for questions and removal.
