    Research

Dr. Lisa L. Losada-Rojas is an Assistant Professor at the Gerald May Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at the University of New Mexico. She also holds courtesy appointments in the Community + Regional Planning Department and the Geography and Environmental Studies Department. She completed her B.S. in Civil Engineering at Universidad Nacional de Colombia and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at Purdue University, with a concentration in Transportation. Before joining UNM, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto St. George Campus in Canada.

Her research focuses on developing transportation solutions that promote community health through behavioral changes. She believes that strategic planning in transportation and public health is crucial to achieving these goals. This belief led her to create the Rural and Urban Transportation Advancement to Healthier Communities (RUTA+HC) group at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Losada-Rojas and RUTA+HC students employ both qualitative and quantitative methodologies from fields such as transportation, behavioral sciences, social sciences, planning, economics, psychology, and human factors to address complex issues at the intersection of transportation and health.
