Former Dean Schluntz serves on AIA 2020 Young Architects Jury
February 26, 2020
Former Dean and Professor Emeritus Roger Schluntz, FAIA, recently served on the American Institutes of Architects (AIA) Jury for the 2020 Young Architects Award applications.
Despite its name, the AIA Young Architects Award does not base eligibility on age. This prestigious and highly competitive recognition is bestowed on individuals who have been licensed to practice architecture for fewer than ten years and have demonstrated outstanding professional talent and exceptional leadership The application process is not unlike that for those seeking recognition as Fellows of the AIA. A total of 22 winners were selected by the six-person 2020 Jury and will be honored at the Annual Meeting of the AIA, to convene this May in Los Angeles.
Schluntz is a distinguished professor of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture, and is still engaged with teaching at the School of Architecture and Planning at UNM. Schluntz also serves on the Executive Committee of the AIA College of Fellows as well as the International Competitions Commission of the UNESCO/International Union of Architects (UIA), based in Paris, France.
