Dear UNM alumni and friends,

Each one of us, whether we are in New Mexico, across the country, or around the globe, has been impacted by this pandemic. Know that we at UNM care how you, your family, and those you love are doing at this time as we all come together.

There have been several positive advancements in recent weeks, including news that doctors at UNM Hospitals launched their first clinical trials of two different medicines to help treat patients fighting the coronavirus. Our hospital is coordinating with other academic health centers across the country, as well as with hospitals in New Mexico.

On the academic front, students and faculty officially began remote instruction on April 6, making it possible for our students to continue their academic journeys. These are signs of hope in the midst of these challenging times. Click here to learn more about UNM’s response to the COVID 19 crisis.

Communities around the globe are working hard to help in the whatever ways we can. We give a BIG THANK YOU to those of you who answered the recent call to help address urgent needs for our patients, health care providers, and students.

As you know the need is still great; and your gift via www.unmfund.org shows that the human-spirit is strong and we want to help those in need. If you have already made a gift, thank you and please share this message with others you think would also like to make a positive impact on the UNM community. Every gift is a signal of hope when we need it most.

We appreciate your ongoing support, and your generosity.
