Plata Studio
The Finding Rural program was founded as a collaboration between Western New Mexico University, the School of Architecture and Planning at the University of New Mexico and the School of Architecture at Woodbury University, to explore how architecture and design play a role in economic development in rural communities throughout the state.  We are exploring processes that include research, community participation, asset inventory, analysis, programming, site planning, design, film and social media to offer recommendations for project implementation.

We have had the opportunity to work with institutions and communities throughout the state including:

Town of Silver City
City of Deming
Air Force Research Lab
New Mexico Tech
City of Santa Fe
Village of Los Lunas
